Chaophya Hospital, located in Bangkok, is a leading private health care facility, conceived as a tertiary care general hospital. From its inception, the hospital has provided high quality healthcare to both local and international patients.
Since 2002, the hospital has undertaken a major renovation project, investing over 150 million baht for a major upgrade of medical equipment and facilities. Under the guidance of Prof. Supachai Chaithiraphan, who is the chief executive officer and Heart Center director, Chaophya Hospital is proud to be at the cutting edge of stem cell therapy for end-stage ischemic heart disease patients and a pioneer in translating stem cell research from the laboratory to the hospital. More than 40 patients from U.S., Southeast Asian, U.K., and the Middle East have been treated successfully since March, 2005. That number is expected to increase rapidly in the coming months.
The Heart Center at Chaophya Hospital offers heart patients comprehensive services provided by experienced medical cardiology specialists. The Chaophya team consists of physicians, surgeons, pediatricians, anesthesiologists, nurses and medical support staff who work together in preventative medicine, treatments, as well as rehabilitation. The Chaophya Hospital Heart Center is composed of the heart clinic, I.C.C.U., C.C.U., cardiac catheterization room and operating room, and rehabilitation center.

The Staff of Chaophya Hospital
Prof. Suphachai Chaithraphan MD is the Chairman of the Executive Board of Chaophya Hospital. In addition, he is the director of the hospital’s Heart Center, which is a leader in cell therapy research as well as treatment for end-stage ischemic heart disease patients. Widely regarded as one of the leading heart specialists in Asia, Dr. Suphachai did his internship and residency in the United States, completing his Fellow in Cardiology and putting in several years of cardiology practice at Beth Israel Hospital in New York City. Dr. Suphachai has published extensively in medical journals. For the past 14 years, he has held the position of Chief Editor of Thai Heart Journal.
