Codi Culwell

Codi Culwell
Age at time of treatment: 29 years old
Illness: Spinal Cord Injuries
Country of Residence: United States
Hospital: XCell-Center
Date of Treatment: December, 2005

My Story:

In 1994, when she was 14, Coli Culwell was in a car accident. She broke two cervical vertebrae, namely C5 and C6, and suffered a spinal cord injury.  For two years she could hardly raise her arms. Despite physiotherapy, she could not feel anything in her legs. Following an operation, she was able to move her arms and hands, but still could not control her bowel and bladder. She could feel her lower extremities, but not move them.

In December 2005, stem cells were extracted from Codi’s hipbone then, after preparation, re-injected directly into her spine. Following treatment, Codi noticed she felt more sensation than before. Her abdominal muscles strengthened,  which aided in coughing when suffering from a cold. Her bladder became stronger and her bowel started functioned properly. When standing, it became a lot easier for her to keep her balance. Feeling increased minimally in her feet. Codi’s arm and leg muscles became stronger every day, as did the muscles of her upper body.
